Cook With a Purpose

More Than Preparing Meals

At Fair Play Camp, meals are an important part of camp life.

Our cook does more than prepare food. You become part of a community that is helping boys grow, change, and learn a better way to live.

Every day, boys and their Chiefs come in from the woods after working, learning, solving problems, and facing challenges together. A good meal gives them a place to gather, recharge, and prepare for what comes next.

And you help make that possible.

An 18-Month Opportunity to Serve

This position requires an 18-month commitment.

It’s an opportunity to step away from the ordinary for a season and invest your time and abilities in something that matters. Over those 18 months, you’ll become part of the Fair Play community and contribute to the steady, everyday environment that helps boys change.

A Different Kind of Kitchen

This isn’t a restaurant kitchen.

You’ll prepare hearty, nutritious meals for boys and staff in a camp setting where relationships matter and everyone contributes to the mission.

Your work may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout camp. The meals you prepare become part of the rhythm, stability, and sense of home that boys need.

You’ll be joining a team of people who believe young lives can change—and who are willing to do the everyday work that helps make that change possible.

What You’ll Do

As the Fair Play Camp Cook, you’ll help:

  • Plan and prepare daily meals
  • Provide nutritious food for boys and staff
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly
  • Manage food supplies and meal preparation
  • Work alongside a team committed to the boys
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere around mealtimes

Experience in cooking or food service is helpful, but just as important is a willingness to serve, work as part of a team, and care about the mission of Fair Play Camp.

Your Work Matters Here

You may never know how much a warm meal, a familiar routine, or a welcoming kitchen means to a boy going through a difficult season of life.

But those ordinary things matter.

At Fair Play, changing lives isn’t just about the big moments. It happens through hundreds of small ones—day after day.

The cook is part of those moments.
